WHAT IS OPERATION BACKBONE -
Operation Backbone provides crucial brain and spine surgical treatments for active duty & veterans, spouses and children who need an accelerated substitute to their current care options. Post strength training provided by (NHL) Buffalo Sabres.
Why was Operation Backbone created ?
After the training injury to my neck & back - non military - (see injury report) I began to realize just how costly, stressful & overloaded some of the medical processes can be on our wounded soldiers & their families. The uncertainty, fatigue, paper work & beacuracy can be at times overwhelming, not just for the wounded, but the entire staff and systems. I understood this first hand with my simple $125.30 bill for my emergency room visit that seemed to be more complicated than the injury itself. It was at this point I began to think about the expense and mental frustration soldiers, Vets, & families, who have real physical and mental concerns may have to go through. Operation Backbone was created to become an extension for our active duty & veterans who need specialized care in the fields of brain and spine . Our non for profit organization provides a possible alternative by collaborating with the VA, and the active military branch commands around the world to assist and treat battlefield injuries sustained in defense in the name of freedom.
